Acoustic Station draws heavily from the singer-songwriter tradition in both their original music and the cover songs they love most. This Atlanta-based quartet brings together four distinctive voices and decades of musicianship. Melanie and Paul Shaw have been making music together since the early 1990s when they met as music majors at Rutgers University. Paul is a seasoned guitarist, songwriter, and professional jazz drummer who spent 20 years as a touring musician before locating to Atlanta. Jay Wiggins - the celebrated street artist Evereman - and Naomi Lavender honed their on-stage chemistry in the Muleskinner MacQueen Trio. Together, the quartet performs an engaging mix of original songs penned by each member and inspired interpretations of folk favorites, including classics by Woody Guthrie, Gillian Welch, and Dave Rawlings. Their performances celebrate collaboration, storytelling, and the enduring power of folk music.
